Anie Michaels ~ Never Close Enough ***Tour***

The last thing Ella Sinclair needed on her birthday was a cheating boyfriend, a broken heart, and a dead car battery in a remote beach town. At her greatest moment of need, a protective and sexy Porter Masters comes to her rescue. Ella takes a holiday week at the coast to discover herself and finds her attraction to Porter potent and undeniable. Uncertain of their future together, Ella struggles to open her heart to trust again.

Porter Masters takes care of his own: his single mother, his company, and now he’s compelled to protect the beauty that walked into his world. Never one for relationships in his past, Porter discovers that he was waiting all along for Ella. As their time together comes to an end, will Porter fight for the woman who stole his heart? Porter will find a way to keep her, despite the obstacles.

1, Your books are so emotional. How long does it take for you to be able to get the characters out of your mind and move on to the next?

Never Close Enough was my very first book and Ella and Porter definitely consumed me.  I was pretty obsessed.  But once I got the first book done, and started the second, I definitely got some new voices in my head who wanted their story told just as much.  I guess once I feel like I've invested in their story, and feel comfortable that they are where they are supposed to be, my mind feels free to allow new characters in.

2, Are the names of the characters in your novels important?

Not important to me personally, but I did think very carefully about which names I wanted to use.  It becomes obvious with the more books you read that there is a certain formula to successful character names.  So I knew that I wanted to woman's name to be short and perhaps a little sassy.  No Marys or Jennifers.  But the man's name had to be something original and interesting.  Ella was my female name from the beginning, but Porter took a little while to settle down with.  My best friend and I were very thorough when trying to brainstorm names for him.

3, How do you react to a bad review of one of your books?

I think that really depends on what was said, and whether it was constructive or not.  There are plenty of people out there who will read your book, dislike it, and tell you why.  If they are sincere, honest, and say something worth noting I stow that away and think about how many other readers who didn't leave a review probably feel the same way.  I am very new to the self-publishing world so any help or feedback I can get it amazing.  But if someone is just rude or hateful, I just keep scrolling.  Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I'm entitled to take everything with a grain of salt as well.
    4, Who designed the covers?

My extremely talented best friend in the whole work is a professional photographer and she does work as Shaded Tree Photography.  She put the cover together for Never Close Enough and also my soon to be released book Never Far Away.  I keep trying to convince her to get into the ebook cover business, so maybe she'll take my advice, she's very good at it.
5, Describe in 5 words, your writing:
Wordy, emotional, sexy... I'll try and think of two more, lol.
6, When your were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a teacher.

7, What do you use to write your book?

 A laptop and caffeine.

8, Do you listen to music while you writing or reading?

No, although the next book I am planning to write is completely inspired by one song and I get the urge to listen to it all the time, so while I'm writing it I am sure I will be changing my habits and adding music to my routine.

9, Tell us your latest news?

Well, I am very excited at the success of Never Close Enough on amazon, and I am very ecstatic to be releasing the second book in The Never Series, Never Far Away, on March 4th.  Both books were completely exhilarating to write and I cannot wait to see what is next for me!

10, What book are you reading now?

At this very moment I am in between books.  I read at a very fast pace and so I end one book and start another very quickly.  But I just finished The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski.

11, Do you ever write naked?

No! I am usually always writing at a coffee shop so that would get me arrested very quickly.

12, What is your favourite Starbuck’s/coffee shop drink?

Iced black and white mocha, or anything with caramel in it.

13, What's your favourite fruit?

 Bananas.

14, What's your favourite tv show?

Downton Abbey and Chicago Fire at the moment.  I do not watch a lot of television anymore now that I am writing so much.  But I love Grey's Anatomy and Rookie Blue as well.
What's your favorite genre?

I am a true sucker for the young love, friends turned lovers stories, so I think I fall into the New Adult category.  Give me a story about young people falling in love for the first time and I melt into a sappy puddle.

Do you enjoy giving interviews?
Please, I love talking about myself. I just wish it was more of a conversation.  I love to talk to people, lol.
